RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) is a shipping term widely used for transporting wheeled cargo. RoRo shipping is a safe and reliable method for ocean transport of vehicles, mining equipment, trucks, buses, boats, and agricultural machinery. Unlike container shipping, RoRo vessels are designed to allow vehicles to be driven or towed directly on and off the vessel using specialized roll trailers.
Equipped with dedicated ramps and secure parking decks, RoRo vessels facilitate efficient loading and unloading. This makes RoRo shipping the safest and most economical option for heavy equipment and oversized vehicle transport, preferred by automotive, mining, and construction industries globally.
All vehicles are driven or towed onto the vessel via a wide stern ramp by qualified handlers called stevedores. These experienced operators ensure your vehicle is carefully driven onto the vessel at the origin port and rolled off safely at the destination.
Vessels feature up to 13 or 14 decks with adjustable internal ramps. Vehicles are positioned on the most suitable deck depending on their weight, height, and length, and are securely lashed down to prevent movement during transit.
Our fleet of roll trailers includes multiple sizes ranging from 20 to 80 feet, with the capacity to handle heavy cargo up to 160 MT. Longer roll trailers are equipped with integrated rails to accommodate rail vehicles.
RoRo shipping offers outstanding advantages in time efficiency, cost reduction, and minimized risk of damage. Because vehicles are rolled on and off the vessel, the handling risk associated with crane lifting is completely eliminated.
Our pure car/truck carriers (PCTC) are optimized for high-volume automotive shipments as well as high, heavy, and breakout cargo. With vessels featuring up to 6.5 meters of free deck height, 12 meters of ramp width, and a ramp capacity of 375 MT, we accommodate even the largest industrial machinery. Newer class vessels also feature ammonia and methanol-ready notations, leading the industry toward green maritime logistics.
In 2005, our transport fleet successfully moved 44 relief trucks from Gothenburg, Sweden to Sumatra, Indonesia, supporting disaster relief efforts after the Indian Ocean tsunami.
In January 2006, we partnered with the Red Cross to transport crucial relief equipment and vehicles to Mombasa, Kenya, providing aid to famine-stricken regions in eastern Africa.
In 2005, we established a partnership with SOS Children's Villages, financing the construction and operation of family homes and a social center in the Philippines.
